I love reading (I read 40 books in 2024), music (I play guitar, piano, banjo, mandolin, and several stranger instruments), cooking (Indian food is my go-to), gardening (mainly houseplants and vegetables. Everything else is a waste of time.), and travel (I have been to 28 US states and 15 countries).
I worked in restaurants and as a caddie (hospitality & customer service) before moving to Chicago and working in a Medicare call center. My experience is grounded in customer service and with my time in Chicago selling Medicare, I have great understanding of Medicare. I view my job as a customer service/ advisor role so that I can help my clients find a good fit for their own needs.
Working in a Medicare call center, I learned there that much of this industry is just agents trying to sell a policy regardless of its effect on the client. This led me to firmly believe that the position of [Medicare] Insurance Agent should be one of an advisor rather than a salesman. That is the approach I take with every client. If the policy will not benefit them, I send them on their way, even if it could be an “easy sale”.
Fun Fact: I broke my femur in a stair-jumping contest when I was 2 years old.
